Dividing an application

You may divide an application into two or more separate applications (called divisional applications) by sending us the Form TM12 PDF document(20Kb)

Class objection

You can divide your application to allow those classes that are acceptable to go forward for advertisement, and for the objections to the remaining classes to be dealt with separately.

On the Form TM12 PDF document(20Kb)

You will need to list in box 3 the class number(s) or the goods or services that you want to transfer to the divisional application.

You will have to pay:

  • £100 to divide the application

Series objection (for applications filed before October 1 2009)

You can divide your application to allow marks which are acceptable as a series to go forward for advertisement, and for the remaining marks to be dealt with separately.

On the form TM12 PDF document(20Kb)

You will need to list in Box 3 the marks that you want to be divided into a divisional application.

You will have to pay:

  • £100 to divide the application
  • £200 for the divided 'new’ application
  • £50 for each extra class - if the application has more than one class
